Martin Scharff

Creative, innovative, enthusiastic and curious. These – in addition to Martin Scharff’s technical and craftsmanship expertise – are attributes that distinguish the top chef and ensure a constant culinary top program.

Who is Martin Scharff?

Continuously awarded a Michelin star for over 30 years, Martin Scharff, who was born in Dinkelsbühl, was once the youngest of his guild to receive the star. He is a founding member of the Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe association as well as a member of theConfrérie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs. With his cuisine, the former star chef has delighted celebrities and guests of the Berlinale for many years, and sits on several juries of national as well as international cooking competitions. As the culinary master of the castle in the most stunning and probably best-known castle ruins in Germany, Martin Scharff entertains and delights national and international guests with fine, yet down-to-earth uncomplicated cuisine.

A culinary globetrotter

He describes himself as a culinary globetrotter and has already traveled and experienced almost all the interesting cuisines of this world. For this reason, Martin Scharff likes to accentuate menus with exciting influences from Latin America, Asia or the Mediterranean countries. Likewise, the top chef uses mainly seasonal and regional products and herbs from the castle garden. With his unbridled wealth of ideas, he is not only an artist at the stove, but as a passionate music fanatic, he also makes a decisive contribution to the successful implementation of new event concepts at Heidelberg Castle.
