Work at the Heidelberg Castle

The most important thing is being interested and having passion for real foodstuffs, great products, handiwork and good food and drink. We work in a team, with an inbuilt sense of give and take, and with respectful, open and honest communication. Good manners make life easier for everyone.

We train people (from 17 years old) with pleasure and are happiest when our trainees grow with us. Experience in gastronomy or the event sector is an advantage, but not a must.

Working hours are flexible with responsibility for and insight into a wide variety of gastronomic activities, from events to tourist outlets, catering, restaurants, bistro and networking events.

And by the way, not only we are a super mix, but also our guests come from all over: they comprise Heidelbergers, German tourists and guests from all over the world. Another plus point in our people-business gastronomy!

  • Preparation & post-processing of the workplace
  • Production and preparation of foodstuffs
  • Internal departmental consultations and agreements
  • Maintenance and checking of hygiene standards
  • Cooking for guests and for the team
    on the job with heart and soul!

Depending on the school-leaving qualification, three types of training can be completed with us:

Eventmanager (m w d)

  • Organise the individual steps wtihin the scope of event planning
  • Holistic communication with all areas of the Castle gastronomy
  • Coordinating of event planning in our various
  • processing of event requests
  • Professional care & catering for our guests

Qualified restaurant personnel (m w d)

  • daily catering for our guests and our employees
  • Preparation and post-processing of your workplace
  • Production and preparation of our meals
  • Carrying out your tasks with a sense of responsibility and awareness of your duty
  • Department-internal communication
  • Maintenance and checking of hygiene standards
